Loans and Scholarships

Sisters Helping Sisters Foundation Scholarships: Need-based scholarships are available throughout the fiscal year (July-June) for eligible candidates. These awards are designated to assist collegiate members who have proven financial need or who find themselves in a sudden or unexpected financial crisis. Applications may be submitted at any time during an academic year and grants will be made as funds permit. For more information, click here.

 

Student Loans: The Delta Gamma Foundation offers both undergraduate and graduate loans up to $2,000. 

 

Student Loan Application: There is no application deadline! You may download a Student Loan Application by clicking on the following link: loan_app.pdf (Adobe Acrobat version). 

 

Student Loan Application Procedure: Please select the appropriate loan and send the following information to the Delta Gamma Foundation, 3250  Riverside Dr., Cols, OH 43221-0397.

 

Loan Terms:

  • Student loans are interest free

  • Payments begin three months after graduation or leaving school

  • Repayable in 25 monthly installments of $80

  • Borrowers may have only one loan outstanding at a time

  • Loans may only be approved for tuition, books or other specific educational expenses.

  • Educational Loans can not be used to pay sorority dues!

 

Collegiate Student Loans:

  • Letter stating intended purpose of the loan, indicating need and a willingness to accept the financial obligation of the loan

  • Completed application with co-signer statement

  • Current official transcript from the Office of the Registrar

  • Letters of recommendation from: 1) Advisory team chairman, 2) Chapter vp: finance stating you are a member in good standing, 3) Faculty member, 4) Delta Gamma friend who will always know applicant’s address 

 

Alumnae Student Loans:

  • Letter stating the intended purpose of the loan, indicating need and a willingness to accept the financial obligation of a loan—annual Delta Gamma alumnae dues must be paid for the current fiscal year, July 1-June 30. (Click Here for information on alumnae dues.)

  • Completed application with co-signer statement

  • Current official transcript from the Office of the Registrar or proof of recent acceptance into a degree program

  • Signed letters of recommendation from: 1) Recent employer, faculty member or faculty adviser, 2)  President of alumnae group or another Delta Gamma, 3) Faculty member, 4) Delta Gamma friend who will always know applicant’s address 

 

Dawson Student Loans (for sisters, sons, and daughters of Delta Gammas): 

  • Letter stating the intended purpose of the loan, indicating need and a willingness to accept the financial obligation of a loan

  • Completed application with Delta Gamma sponsor and co-signer statement

  • Sponsoring Delta Gamma’s annual alumnae dues or collegiate dues must be paid

  • Current official transcript from the Office of the Registrar or proof of recent acceptance into a degree program

  • Letters of recommendation from: 1) Sponsoring Delta Gamma, 2) President of alumnae group or another Delta Gamma, 3) Faculty member or faculty adviser, 4) Character recommendation from employer or clergy
