Historical Timeline:

1882 – Women’s Greek system began at Boston University

1956 – Boston University was first considered as a possible expansion site for Delta Gamma
-
1960s-1970s – Womens’ groups disbanded at BU due to collegians questioning and often rejecting traditional institutions
-
1980s – Greek groups returned to campus as reactivated or newly formed chapters
-
1987 – Interest Group A formed with 18 women
-
March 1987 –Special Interest Group A wrote to Delta Gamma with interest in affiliation
-
April 1987 - Delta Gamma begins discussion with Boston University about possible expansion

September 10, 1987 - Delta Gamma makes official presentation to Interest Group A
-
September 27, 1987 – Special Interest Group A petitions for charter of Delta Gamma
-
October 24, 1987 – Pledging ceremony for Interest Group A (24 members) takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge
-
October 26, 1987 – Boston University officially recognizes Delta Gamma on campus
-
January 27-30, 1988 – official colonization takes place – “Cheers to Delta Gamma” was the theme

October 22, 1988 – Zeta Zeta chapter installed at Boston University; 46 women were initiated
